1) I read recently in one of the Ukrainian Soccer Websites that the present coach complained that he couldn't communicate with his players because of a "language problem" (i.e. he speaks ONLY Russian and most of the players speak Ukrainian). If true, than this is a problem not only of the Ukrainian National Soccer Team, but of the country - Ukraine - in general;
2) The problem of the Ukrainian National Soccer Team is VERY much of the problem of the National Soccer Team of SCOTLAND: Not enough POOL of good players; In Scotland there are only TWO important teams: CELTIC GLASGOW and GLASGOW RANGERS. How can you put up a strong NATIONAL TEAM based only on "TWO TEAMS" ??? Look at Germany, look at Italy, look at France, etc. - they have ALWAYS "many" TEAMS THAT HAVE top players; instead, like in SCOTLAND, where you can pool the best players out of only, let's say, 48 best players, the teams in Germany, England, Italy, and so on, can chose from a field of a potential pool of, at least, 100 players. The same for UKRAINE: "ONE" team dominates - DYNAMO KYIV - the result? - a pool of possible 48 players? What about the rest of the League and the country???!!! Think about that!!!
3) Political situation: The problem of the Ukrainian National Soccer Team is tied up to the political situation in Ukraine: corruption, nepotism, continuation of the old "communist" approach to ANYTHING (Sorry, but the way I see it, you in Ukraine have not be able to overcome the 'old communist way' of thinking and doing things')
4) There are rumours in the soccer world that the 2nd game between UKRAINE and GERMANY was "FIXED" - UKRAINE just THREW the game away for the Germans.
